Vacationing in the South of France.

Recently I traveled to France for the first time and honestly it was better than I could have imagined. To start with it is insanely beautiful. The country is wild and unkempt, the houses are beautiful yet decrepit, basically a living fairytale land. I absolutely died. I was taking photos right and left. I couldn't get enough. The overall aesthetic was added to by all the old cars everyone was driving around, and the classic culture of the people. Simple, pure, natural. Just a few words to describe the fashion, food, and lifestyle of the south of France. We traveled through many different small villages all with their own special charm. Many of the medieval villages are perched on the very top of a hillside so that in the past the castle or Chateau could see their enemies approaching from a great distance. This too made these small villages even more charming. With slender winding cobbled roads and great views, these villages stole my heart. I could live there and find something to do for an income right? I could learn to make cheese?! I make not make any money because I would eat all of my product, but at least I would be supremely happy. So there you are, just a short introduction to France.

Here are just a few of the photos I took while exploring. Hopefully I will return soon, or possibly even live there... I would not mind a bit.

So there you are. Just a few images from the South of France. Wish I had taken more of the food because my goodness if there was a high point it was the food! And the wine. Such good wine for soooo cheap. It is truly beautiful. Our dinner every night consisted of fresh vegetables, great local cheese, fresh baguettes from the local boulangerie, and of course, wine. The South of France, at least from a visitors perspective is so mellow. It is all about you local village market, spending many hours of your day eating great food with great company, followed by espresso, in the middle of the day, while enjoying the sunshine. And truly is there anything better than that?! I think not. So there you have it. Guess I know where I will be headed for retirement!
